Green Products

Rugby is deeply committed to the environment and supports the continued utilization of environmentally friendly products in its distribution business. With respect to that commitment, Rugby maintains an association with FSC®. 31 Rugby locations are FSC® Chain of Custody certified (SCS‑COC‑001211) which means that any and all wood panel products that are FSC® certified are available through Rugby via stock on hand, or by special order.

In addition, Rugby is in compliance with California Air Resources Board Regulations (CARB), stocks specific panel products that contain No Added Urea Formaldehyde (NAUF) and takes all measures to ensure that all of our vendors are in compliance with the Lacey Act Amendment. All of our decorative surfacing products, including laminate and solid surface are Greenguard certified.

Our “Green Products Program” provides the highest assurance that Rugby will supply you with environmentally responsible wood and surfacing products that meet all of the stringent demands of specifiers and end users alike. These products are available in particleboard, MDF, melamine, plywood, lumber, decorative laminates and solid surfacing / quartz products.

Environmental:  

Core to our philosophy is the protection of the environment, which we embody by distributing only wood products made from legally harvested forests. In support of these commitments we have developed internal policies and programs that allow us to meet or exceed relevant legislation and regulations regarding environmental compliance, safety and sustainability. We believe these policies and programs contribute to a safe, efficient business which minimizes its environmental footprint and provides reliable quality products.

Certification:

Most Rugby wood products are available as FSC Chain of Custody certified (SCS‑COC‑001211). FSC certification confirms that the forest is being managed in a way that preserves biological diversity and benefits the lives of local people and workers, while ensuring it sustains economic viability. FSC certified products sold by Rugby are noted as such in the product descriptions.   

All panel products for sale in the United States are TSCA Title VI. This information is noted in the product description.
